The last couple of weeks I've been continuing to study food hygiene and how to handle food and drinks for customers keeping them as fresh as possible.

My last session with my trainer was really great, we went through everything from the first season just refreshing what we have done in the past.

On the 3rd of August my trainer and I went through stocktake and wastage and how to record different foods and drinks without having a high wastage. Also keeping foods as fresh as possible for customers to eat straight away.

Dealing with customer complaints are very difficult, it's hard to teach staff how to deal with customer complaints in the right manner. Going through this with my trainer has been really good just doing a couple of roll plays to help me through situations.

This week I have been learning about theft and store safety and how to handle myself if it was to occur. It's been really good and I have learnt a lot. The theory work and my in-store training makes things much easier to understand!

One thing I'm learning about is customer service and how to handle customer complaints and how to communicate with them about different issues.

A big thing in hospitality is stock and how to receive it, rotate it and order enough for the week to keep waste to a minimum and keep customers happy with the variety of food.

Staff members and managers are always finding ways to up-sell for the store, I'm learning all the different things i can do to help the store grow and succeed in what were doing. |
